Happy Friday, and Happy Thanksgiving to our US readers!
At Rerun we are always excited to see how brands embrace new technology to tell their brand stories. This week the spotlight is on fashion brands. Diesel has engaged Virtual Reality startup Obsess to build a digital showroom Hyperboom and Balenciaga is launching a new video game, Afterward: The Age of Tomorrow in December to showcase its new Fall/Winter 2021 collection. Promoted as the 'largest volumetric video project ever undertaken', we're excited to see it when it hits our screens on Dec 6.
Also this week social media platforms are rolling out 'new' features to keep users entertained, and, to compete with each other's feature set. Twitter has launched its own new feature Fleets, which is similar to stories on Snapchat and Instagram. The biggest shift in social platforms this week is Snapchat, which has added a new feature called Spotlight. The new feature, which is similar to TikTok, allows users to upload short, music-driven videos. In order to lure creators away from TikTok, Snapchat is giving away a share of a daily $1m prize to users that create the most popular Snaps that day.
In other news, joining the + streaming services group, Discovery has relaunched its AVOD streaming service DPlay as Discovery+.
Until next week!

And finally...
Brighten up your Friday with this humorous, if slightly dystopian article from The BBC.
On Wednesday, a widespread outage in Amazon's AWS infrastructure left many people unable to use their household items such as vacuums and doorbells.
Welcome to the future. It's the robot apocalypse, but not as we were expecting it.
