Happy Friday!
While the world is gradually coming out of lockdown, it feels like we will be living in a hybrid reality for some time to come. This week, MIPCOM announced its plans to go ahead in October with both in-person and digital events. Peloton announced that it will be bringing its apps to more streaming devices, as a response to a rising need for at-home fitness solutions. And, this summer, Walmart car parks will be the not-so-obvious home of new movie releases across the US.
Also this week, immersive theatre company Punchdrunk and Pokemon Go creators Niantic shared plans to collaborate on AR games, which will hopefully be ready for the time when we get to roam the streets safely again.
Until next week!
The Princess Bride is getting remade, but not in the way you might think
And Finally...
This week we found something we loved on Quibi, of all places. And it's exactly the kind of nostalgia hit we need right now. A smorgasbord of Hollywood talent reenacts the much-loved Princess Bride movie, DIY style. Fred Savage takes up his original role as The Grandson, and Adam Sandler does a decent job of The Grandfather, with plenty of surprise appearances throughout.
Please keep doing this sort of fun stuff Quibi!
