NBC Peacock streaming service: release date, price and shows
Happy Friday!!
Big news this week as another major streaming service joins the fray. NBC’s Peacock revealed its pricing tiers, and launch date. Its multi-tier pricing includes free, ad-supported, and ad-free options. It rolls out to existing cable customers in April, and is available to everyone else in July, just in time for the Summer Olympics. An early glimpse at its content offering shows NBC’s intent for its streaming service to be complementary to its TV offering. Just with added bells and whistles. The combination of human curated show collections, personalised content discovery, and trending short form content has the potential to make this feel like new and improved TV.
Also this week, AMC head of programming Sarah Barnet talks about nurturing innovative content, Twitch battles live sports piracy, and Nieman Marcus experiments with shoppable video.
See you all next week!
