Happy Friday!
This week, we are sending congratulations to our customers the amazing WaterBear Network for two big reasons!
Firstly, the WaterBear Network is is now available in 30 more countries! π
To celebrate, WaterBear will be planting a tree in the Alladale Wilderness Reserve in the Scottish Highlands, for each of the next 30,000 new members to sign up to the free streaming platform, dedicated to the future of our planet. π³
Secondly, big congrats go to WaterBear CEO Ellen Windemuth, who executive produced the now BAFTA-winning documentary, My Octopus Teacher. ππ
Our Top Pick this week is a celebration of World Storytelling Day, featuring our own Axonista team members and their favourite storytellers. Great storytelling is an important part of any interactive video experience. Our remote-first team of 40 spans ten nationalities - and we all share a love of storytelling!
We have 7 open roles in our engineering and design team at the moment. If you know anyone who might be a great fit for Axonista, and loves storytelling, please send them our way!
Until next week!
New avatar-based social network, Itsme, raises $15.2 million from Alexis Ohanian, Others
And finally...
Itsme, a new avatar-based social network has raised $15.2 million. Similar to social networking site IMVU, users can create digital avatars to communicate and meet with new people based on their interests.
To take avatar designs to a new level, Itsme has hired former Pixar animator Andrew Gordon to design the next versions of the avatars. We think it would be fun to go around a virtual world looking like Colette Tatou from Ratatouille!
