Kids in the UK are going to have a wealth of Disney content at their fingertips following next month’s launch of the Mouse House’s new streaming service, DisneyLife.

The iOS and Android app will offer access to what Disney has deemed its largest collection of movies, TV box sets, books and music. Like its competitors – among them being Hopster, which currently ranks as the top-grossing iPhone app for preschoolers in the UK – the service is designed to be used on the go and allows users to download content for later viewing. Priced at £9.99 (US$15) per month, the service includes thousands of TV eps and hundreds of movies, plus a free download every month from a selection of Disney apps.

In terms of personalization, up to six customized profiles are available per membership, allowing different family members to explore the app as Elsa, Nemo, Woody, Snow White and Mickey.

Following its UK debut, DisneyLife will head to other European markets. (At launch, the app supports five different languages – English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.) No plans are currently in place for the US and Canadian market, where Disney holds first-run theatrical pacts with SVOD giant Netflix.
